When one is thinking about mandatory school uniforms, the first and main reason of safety and reducing violence at school comes to mind. But, the truth of the matter is the problem with safety and violence is a big issue, and one that should not be even considered solving by a quickie method such as uniforms. It should not be thought that once a uniform is put on, the problems within our schools will disappear.

<Tab/>If violence is the problem consider things like confronting students about issues that are taking place and teaching resolution techniques, securing school entrances, open-mike assemblies that would be held on a regular basis to give students the opportunity to express themselves; find ways of making the school safer instead of using a Band-Aid solution that stifles creativity and leaves potentially negative future effects. Schools do not need mandatory uniforms.
