My setting is based in a mental health ward of an NHS hospital.
An elderly patient is in hospital in a public ward, she has a diagnosis of dementia, which causes her to suffer from periods of paranoid delusions. She is in hospital for a brief visit as she has just suffered a bad episode. Her husband is finding it

to terms with things better would also be a suggestion. Provide reassurance and verbal efforts to calm. Checking again if the husband would like to look into long-term care in a nursing home, and if so discussing it with his wife, social workers, and her G.P Ect.
Therapists can be helpful in dealing with stress, anxiety, or depression in family caregivers. A visit from the hospital priest for counselling, if she would like this.
