The Crucible is a story of the Salem Witch Trials, which took place in 1692. Arthur Miller has portrayed this story in many different forums. The book for example, requires the reader to think, picture and visualize emotions and scenes by thought of imagination. most obvious thing is that a play is all dialogue, where as a novel will often have many paragraphs of prose describing what
a character is thinking. In a play you have to figure out what a character is thinking by what he says, and what others say about him, keeping in mind that people don't always speak the truth, or at least the whole truth. Leaving the unanswered question " Is the movie really better?"
