she was still a good person with valuable morals. Her actions proved that even though Hester was guilty of a crime, she held her head high and served her punishment without complaint. She wanted to raise her daughter to be a prime example of the Puritan way of life, and to spare her lover of any humiliation. Hester Prynne showed excellent qualities of character because of her endless devotion to both her lover and daughter.
