Like most teenagers, I couldn't wait to get my driver license. The process for me began with drivers-ed in high school. Just to get a learners permit you have to be able to pass a written test on the basic rules of the road and California State law. I didn't realize it then, but that was the easy part. a lot in the last two years and I know I am a better driver than when I began. Though driving a stick shift seemed more difficult at first, I soon learned the process and now I actually prefer it. I understand that with the privilege of driving there also comes a big responsibility. Not only to learn and obey the laws but to maintain a vehicle that is safe to have on the road.
