In the early seventeenth century two separate groups founded two very different colonies. The first to be colonized was the settlement of Jamestown, located in present day Virginia. Just over a decade later the colony of Puritans founded on what is now known as Cape Cod, Massachusettes. Although there are similarities and differences between the two colonies, they were both pretty equal in their abilites to adapt to their new surroundings. They both had their way of life and different views. If not for the settlers of these colonies, we would not be where we are today in America.
