Cooperative learning is the use of small groups in the classroom so that students work together to maximize their own and each other's learning (Eggen, 279). The idea is not complicated. Class members are organized into small groups after receiving initial instruction from the teacher (Eggen, 280-281). They then work through the assignment together until all group members totally understand the concept and complete the work (Sadker, 106). be incorporated with cooperative learning. There needs to be a flexible curriculum that accommodates all the different intellectual abilities of all students. Not all the students will have the same learning capabilities or will even enjoy the same things. Some students may have learning disabilities and others may be highly intelligent. I want to insure that my classroom is strict, yet still is flexible and exciting enough to accommodate each individual student's needs and interests.
