Odysseus had doubtful morals, but steadfast morals nevertheless, faith that was tenacious, and the perseverance like no other. Even after all his men had died, all his fleet had been sunk and future that looked dim, Odysseus made it home. This is why he is heroic, and why he is the most famous hero in all of Greek literature.
