Sonny's Blues
Sonny's blues is a short story written by James Baldwin. James was born in 1924 in Harlem in the neighborhoods of New York City. The fact James intermingles his own experience with Harlem into the short story gives this story life. Sonny's brother, whose name is never mentioned, tells the story in first person point-of-view.

book and flipped to Sonny's Blues, I had no idea how long the short story was, but by the time I was finished I didn't believe it was over. The ending was great but the story left me wanting to see how the rest of the lives of these brothers panned out. James Baldwin did a magnificent job in dragging a reader into the story and not letting go even after the story was over.
