Conformity
Conformity is a change in an individual's behaviour, when involved in a group setting. People who conform change their behaviour, attitudes and values to suit those within a group. An individual would live up to the expectations of that particular group, which the group would then class as 'social norms'. There are three different types of conformity:
Compliance: an individual would conform to the group's values; behaviour and attitudes publicly but privately

Although Asch's study highlighted many conformity behaviours, there are many other factors that effect conformity, and this may have taken place during his experiments. Asch's study did not reflect situations we come across in our everyday life's. If we were to generalize from its conclusions to real life it would be inaccurate.
