The movie Saw captivated audiences with its gruesome violence and surprising plot twists. It was a rare film that completely shook up the horror genre. As with most successful horror movies, a sequel always seems to follow, however, most of the time the sequel never quite lives up to the first movie. Also numerous flashbacks disrupt the flow of the movie and cause the intensity to die down at certain points, but overall, Saw II is a magnificent attempt at a sequel. It is just as good as the first one if not better. The surprises are as big as ever and leave the viewer on the edge of their seat to see even more from the Saw franchise.
