in luhrmans,s version. Zeffereli uses old fashioned 16th century music, which is quiet merry but dull. The tempo of the music frequently changes. The music is fast when the sexual tension between the two lovers is growing but slows down as they are about to meet. The romantic scene in this version is sung by a man. Altogether the music the music was very dry, dull and did not contribute much to the atmosphere.
