Shakespeare wrote the play 'Romeo and Juliet' in the early 1600s, when it would have shocked the audience watching its performances because of the dramatic effect created by the social context of those times. think that the play is very moving and it makes me think about circumstances in some people's lives in a new light. This is partly due to the storyline, however, the storyline would not be very effective on its own without dramatic effect, so Shakespeare has used it to add excitement to the play and to keep the audience on the edges of their seats.
