Rate of reaction
The Effect of concentration on the reaction between magnesium and hydrochloric acid.
Mg(s) + 2HCl(aq) MgCl2(aq) + H2(g)
Aim:
In this experiment I am going observe and record the reaction between magnesium and different concentrations of hydrochloric acid.
Prediction:
I think that the high concentrations of acid such as 1.0 and 0.8mols we have the most rapid reaction and let off more gas a lot quicker. The weaker concentrations such as 0.2

the acid remains in excess.
Evaluation:
I think that I carried out this preliminary experiment quite well and ended up with a good set of results. I think I could improve this experiment by maybe repeating it and then comparing the 2 sets of results and seeing if there are any differences. I also think it could be improved if I added in more concentrations to give me more accurate and a wider range of results.
