The fact that Cyrano remains consistent provides a sense of controversy which makes the book enjoyable for everyone. Everyone has an opinion and can perceive Cyrano in whichever way they prefer. Is Cyrano's inability to change the only thing keeping from being "perfect"? Or does it make him perfect, you decide.
