7 June 2001, Northern Ireland voted 18 MP’s for the House of Commons in Westminster, and also 582 members of the 26 district councils. The results of Westminster election show how similar the main parties of Northern Ireland are represented in the electorate. The UUP won 6, the DUP won 5, Sinn Fein won 4 and the SLDP won 3 seats. Though there is not a great gap between the results, it is obviously that the Protestant unionist parties still dominate. (11/7)
