To achieve this, an analysis of the main ideas and arguments of the text will be conducted, together with an attempt to identify ways in which the text responds to the ideas, social circumstances and cultural preoccupations of its own time as well

Wollstonecraft's legacy to us is that these issues were raised for public debate in a time when women were extremely oppressed both domestically and in the public arena. That many of these issues are still being debated indicates that the road to genuine equality of the genders has not yet been completed.
