There were people crouching right by me, as if expecting me to turn into an alien. There was a girl, about my age, wearing a baseball glove and a New York hat. have almost lost a lifetime's worth of memories with him? Suddenly, I felt tears in my eyes, too. I rubbed them with my knuckles, trying to wipe them away. I smiled.
"Great job, you two." I smiled wider. "You did it." They looked at me for a minute, and smiled. We all laughed and hugged. When I next saw Kat, she was crying. I couldn't make fun of her, though, because I was crying, too.
