Throughout the 1920's to the 1940's China fought in a revolution between the nationalist and communist parties. In 1949 the Chinese communist party came to power with Mao Zedong as its leader. Mao Zedong was a significant influence in Chinese history. He started his sovereignty with the Hundred Flower Blossom which took place in the 1950's. His attempts to improve China only mad things worse for its people. After 1976 other member of the Chinese Communist Party like Zhou Enlai began to restore order to the country. Mao's ruling was a bad time for China and it was only right for him to step down.
