Linus Pauling
Linus Pauling was born on February 28, 1901 in Portland, Oregon. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at Oregon State Agricultural College (now Oregon State University), in 1922. He then became a graduate assistant at the California Institute of Technology, in Pasadena, California. In 1925, Pauling received his Ph.D. at physical chemistry in the California Institute of Technology. For two years he was a postdoctoral fellow in Europe. He returned to the California Institute
