Keeping Fit? Strength is the muscle's ability to exert force. Although we equate large muscles with strength, that is not necessarily so. remember that stiffness didn't happen overnight, so don't expect to become flexible overnight. If you try too hard and work too fast, you may injure muscle or tendon tissue. Do your stretching and flexibility exercises slowly and gently at first and gradually intensify them.
