Despite them being written almost four hundred years ago, through his poetry Shakespeare is able to demonstrate and very emotions that one will surely experience today as well as in the future. He is able to relate to the reader the ideas of how the transience of time will inevitably rob people of their physical beauty because there is nothing but perhaps "the ever-fixed mark" of love which can withstand it.
