Statistics could be the most effective evidence for a powerful interpretation of reality. When I attended in the BWYA, the report card have been completely changed, each subject teacher will write some comments to explain how is student study going on, which subject does student need to work hard and concentrate. Without any help of language, the statistics can do nothing explanation of reality, and probably distort our understanding.
