Not until the early 1900's when Mendel started playing around with his pea plants did the scientific community come up with a justification of the role of heredity in Darwin's natural selection theory. All in all, this book taught me about the history of all the theories I have taken for fact throughout my studies as a biology major. It was invaluable to read and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
