In effort to initiate our studies concerning the west and the world, we have begun to explore the roots of western culture in pre-modern history.
With this being the case, our class has been challenged to express which of the six key cities during the 1500's could have played a significant role in the evolution of the west.

The very framework of what is said to distinguish the western world can be traced back to this ancient city.
From education to trade and multiculturalism, this early civilization possessed all of the key elements now found in the west. With this being the case, it is only logical to conclude that much of the west could have been modeled after Constantinople.
