Reading contemporary novels and stories has been one of my passions since childhood, i read up to this day alomst every day. Throughout the years, I have changed the genre considerably, yet never ventured into classical authors until this semester. Unlike the contemporary books I've read, these classical works demand much more reader participation and involvement. The two authors move the reader to begin a process of self-examination of his or her own life. The complexity of both stories seduces the reader, forcing him or her to see the true value of human life and to view it as more than just a body but a psycho-sensual, emotional, and spiritual existence.
