The HUAC, the Hiss-Chambers case, and the Federal Employee Loyalty Program demonstrated American devotion to ridding themselves of the possibility of communism subversion. With the exception of a few, many politicians, actors, writers, and government employees were unjustly investigated and interrogated. Undeservingly, they lost their jobs along with their careers.
