At the time William Wordsworth wrote the poems "Expostulation and Reply," and "The Tables Turned," there was a mind-set among many of the poets of his time that book learning and the sciences were somehow unnatural and unpoetic. On the other hand, I also agree with William in that I feel that science is going too far at times in that we may never be able to satisfy that curious need to know and understand everything and be able to manipulate it to please us and play god.
