The play Antigone by Greek writer Sophocles is based on tragedy. Some, however, cannot seem to make up their minds about who they think was the more tragic character: Antigone or Creon. I believe that Antigone and Creon were both tragic characters, but Creon was slightly more tragic because of his stubbornness, pride, and position of power.

more tragic character in Antigone because he had stronger tragic flaws, or key flaws that lead to one's downfall. Maybe Antigone and Creon both somehow controlled the other's fate. Had Antigone not been put to death by Creon, he wouldn't have lost everything dear to him. Maybe Creon's flaws were stronger than Antigone's because she had control of his fate indirectly, and Creon was the one who had to go on living without a purpose.
