Another differing element of this genre of writing is that some stories are written in verses and some are in prose. The Hindu and Mesopotamian versions are in verses, while the Judeo-Christian, Hopi, and Norse stories are in prose. Even though big gaps exist between different stories, creation myths all serve the same purpose of explaining how the world came about.
