The story of Amadeus is about two characters, Salieri and Mozart. Both are composers that are alive at the same time, working in the same city. Salieri is the royal composer for the emperor. Mozart is a well-known composer from Germany who turns his back to his country and gives them the rear-end so to speak. The funeral in change had to be that of a poor man's where he was buried in a mass grave. Where then the gravediggers pour powder on him to make his body rot faster, and the cloud that comes back from the grave is showing how he (Mozart) will haunt the dreams and visions of Salieri forever.
